Max Kaufmann

Max Kaufmann is a Marine Geologist Consultant at Odyssey Marine Exploration, where he focuses on applying Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to marine mineral exploration. He develops and utilizes GIS-based models and mineral potential mapping to identify, evaluate, and delineate high-value seafloor targets.

Since joining Odyssey in 2019, Max has contributed to expanding the company’s portfolio of mineral projects while providing technical support across the Research and Scientific Services department. He holds an M.Sc. in Exploration Geology from Camborne School of Mines and a B.Sc. (Hons) in Geology from the University of St Andrews.

Max’s research has been shared internationally, including presentations at the Underwater Minerals Conference in 2020 and 2024.
